RECENT PAST EVENTS

Thank you to Sharon Frentner, our Hospitality committee, Peggy Thompson and Betsy Ding, and our consummate decorator, Marianne Knight and all who contributed food and drink for our wonderful Holiday Party at Carden Academy on December 7th. The venue was perfect, plenty of room for fellowship and music by Joan Ensign’s awesome group, Mass Confu?ion. The tribute to Elena Moreno was heartfelt and touching and members donated over $450 for the Learning and Loving Education Center, with more on the way.

The Annual Neighborhood Dinner was held on Friday, November 7th. The event is a chance to meet new members in our neighborhoods and spend some time with old friends. Thank you to Stacy Forgy and her committee who did such a spectacular job with the event at Mama Mia’s. The table centerpieces, created and donated by Marianne Knight, were lovely; the dinner and conversation were great; and our program, presented by our very own Beth Wyman, was a fantastic tribute to 3 outstanding women from our county’s past.

It was a standing room only crowd at our Candidates’ Forum on October 13! Sponsored jointly by AAUW and the Morgan Hill Times, the forum hosted candidates for the 27th Assembly District, the Morgan Hill City Council, the Open Space Authority and proponents/opponents of Measure G. Candidates met to discuss, debate and enlighten us on issues that affect all of us locally. Thank you to Joanne Rife, Carol Holzgrafe and Lisa Pampuch for their excellent work as moderators, Laura Brunton, our timer, for keeping everyone on track and all the other members who contributed to the success of this program.
