AAUW Women's History Month Speaker Series

Dr. Kurt Beyer, author of the new and critically acclaimed biography of Admiral Grace Hopper, inventor of computer programming, published by MIT Press. “Grace Hopper and the Invention of the Information Age”: In Conversation with its Author, Dr. Kurt Beyer is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 at the Morgan Hill House at 7 PM.
Dr. Beyer has taught information technology at the US Naval Academy and was recently a guest on NBC’s “Press Here” technology show. Dr. Beyer will be selling copies of his new book and has agreed to sign any copies purchased. As in the past, a coffee and dessert reception will follow the presentation and question and answer portions of the evening.
Dr. Beyer will share Grace Hopper’s unique challenges and pioneering spirit in the discovery of computer programming. You can learn more about our guest and his subject by reading his biography.
